๐What it means
The single-use code inside a renewing sign-in that gets its next access part. Using it issues a new code and voids the old one, so the codes form a CHAIN. Whoever renews first moves the chain on and every other copy of the old code is dead from that moment -- which is why only the keeper may ever hold or use it. Two holders renewing the same chain cut each other off, even when they are the estate and the administrator's own laptop.
๐Easily confused with
[{"term": "Plan renewal", "distinction": "Marco's renewal watch is about a paid PLAN renewing its billing period; a renewal code is about a SIGN-IN getting its next access part. Say 'sign-in renewal' when both could be meant."}, {"term": "Access part", "distinction": "The access part lets calls through until it runs out; the renewal code is what gets the next one. A caller needs only the first."}]
๐Nuance
Measured 2026-09-27: the estate's Codex chain last moved on 2026-09-23 and was found spent at the next renewal, four days later -- the reason renewal is now daily.
