Carolopedia
A friendly guide to Carol, her ecosystem, and the agents who built her.
๐What it means
Any Carolopedia page that is not an agent, an app, a droid or a service โ a track, a shared system service, a concept, a block, a place, a written explainer. A guide page exists to be REFERENCED by a main page rather than browsed to: it never appears on the Carolopedia landing page and never in the four indexes. That is what makes it possible for Carolopedia to define everything the estate uses without the front door becoming a list of everything.
โ๏ธWhat it is NOT
The neighbours this word is most often confused with, and the line between them.
Not: Main page
A guide page is reached FROM somewhere; a main page is somewhere you arrive. A guide page that appears on the landing page has stopped being a guide page.
Not: Guide (the written explainer)
The written prose explainers are ONE kind of guide page. Track pages, concept pages and shared-system-service pages are guide pages too, and they are rendered live from the records rather than written.
๐งญThe nuance
A main page should REFERENCE its guide pages rather than restate them โ a definition repeated on a main page is a duplicate, and two copies of one answer drift. The guide page is where the answer lives; the main page links to it.
