๐What it means
The six things every adapter does, whatever its vendor, text, image, voice and video alike: work out the model within its slot; get a call-only sign-in from the sign-in door; make the call; return a refusal that names what was refused; prove itself with one real call; and renew the sign-in -- the last only in the keeper, never in a caller. Because every adapter keeps the same six, every slot is reached the same way and a new vendor is one more adapter, not a new pattern.
๐Easily confused with
[{"term": "Adapter", "distinction": "The adapter is the code; the contract is what that code must do. An adapter missing one duty fails the contract check."}, {"term": "Checkpoint contract", "distinction": "A skill's checkpoint contract is what a reviewer grades a piece of work against; the adapter contract is what a piece of code must always do at run time."}]
๐Also called
