📖About & Usage
About
The Gmail Receipt Parser is a droid that automatically pulls delivery order confirmations from Gmail and logs them in a database called `food_orders.db`. It exists to save its owner, Merlin, from manually tracking spending on takeaway meals from services like Lieferando, Wolt, and Uber Eats. It runs once a day at 06:00, so expenses are captured overnight without any human intervention.
It works by scanning the inbox for new confirmation emails, parsing out the order details (items, totals, dates), and recording them. It strictly avoids storing credentials or payment information, so it’s built to access Gmail securely without keeping passwords locally.
This droid isn’t a one-off — it’s one of 212 copies of the same pattern running across almost every Carol agent (from Albus to Scriber). Each copy has the same name and job, and they all follow a daily schedule managed by Scheduled Processes. Its execution engine isn’t recorded in the registry yet, so we can’t say for certain whether it’s pure software or if it calls Claude. If it did use a language model, it would be for understanding the email content, but at the moment its inner workings remain a mystery.
