The Glossary Data Scanner is a scheduled droid owned by Orion that runs once a day at 4 AM. It exists to keep the Data Dictionary accurate: it re-reads every Carolverse database and refreshes the register of stored fields — each field's type, key, and the values a closed set actually holds — without ever overwriting an authored definition with a derived one.
It works by scanning live databases, comparing what it finds against the Data Dictionary's existing register, and updating only the derived facts about stored data. It is one of four scanner droids that make up the scanner family, run by Orion and Prometheus across the ecosystem; the exact name "Glossary Data Scanner" is unique to this droid, and the family pattern is documented in Droid Families. Its daily run is tracked among the Scheduled Processes.
Its execution engine isn't recorded yet — no source has been located that says whether it is pure software or calls Claude, so that detail remains unknown for now.
