About
Inspector is a small watchdog droid owned by Inspector. Its job is to keep an eye on Hermione's scheduler and make sure it is still firing on time. If the scheduler heartbeat goes stale, Inspector tries to restart Hermione; if the restart fails to recover, it files a report instead. It deliberately lives outside Hermione's own failure domain, so it can notice problems that Hermione cannot report about itself.
Inspector runs as a scheduled process every 5 minutes. It checks the scheduler heartbeat, restarts the scheduler if needed, and only escalates if the restart does not work. It is closely related to Hermione Monitor, which is where monitoring activity like this is tracked. Inspector's exact name is unique — no other droid is called Inspector — but it belongs to the (none) droid family, which includes 222 droids run by many different owners across Carol's ecosystem.
Inspector is pure software: its source contains no Claude calls, so it does not use a Claude model or spend tokens on reasoning. Its engine is "software" with no model and no Claude-specific purpose.
