📖About & Usage

About

Foreman Twin is an on-demand health-check droid that gives Merlin an instant snapshot of the Pipeline. When Merlin suspects something is wrong—a process stuck, a recent cascade of failures—he triggers this droid instead of waiting for a scheduled check. It scans for crashed jobs that were never cleaned up, lists every droid currently executing, and tallies failures from the last hour, logging everything in a single digest.

The droid belongs to the watcher family, a standard reusable pattern that 14 droids across multiple agents (including Albus, Clara, Hagrid, and others) use to keep an eye on system health. However, the Foreman Twin configuration is unique to Merlin—no other agent runs a droid with that exact name or the same on-demand snapshot logic. It acts purely as a diagnostic assistant, feeding data to Process Monitoring routines without taking any action itself.

Foreman Twin is pure software—it never calls Claude or any large language model. Its value is in speed and focus: read the pipeline state, count and list, report. Merlin consults the results to decide whether to replan, attempt a manual recovery, or escalate to a deeper investigation.
