A visit that arrived from an AI assistant's own interface — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot or Gemini — meaning a person clicked through after an assistant cited the page. This is NOT the same as an AI reader: a crawler that fetches the page for training or indexing never runs the visit beacon and is counted separately on the AI Readers tab.

An AI reader is a crawler fetching the page; it never runs the visit beacon and is counted on the AI Readers tab. A visit source describes a HUMAN who arrived and engaged.
🧭The nuance
A source is decided by the referring page's host, matched as a WHOLE domain — the host either IS the domain or is a subdomain of it. Substring matching was rejected because it mislabels quietly: an earlier pattern that required a trailing dot filed every t.co and x.com visit as Other.
