Privacy Review Gate (var-privacy-gate-01) is a build-time privacy droid owned by Var. It exists to flag changes that touch user data without a privacy basis — anything that reads, stores, or shares personal information when no consent, policy, or other lawful ground covers it. The point is to catch those problems while a change is still being built, not after it has already shipped.

It is triggered rather than scheduled: when a change involving user data arrives in the build flow (Pipeline), the gate checks whether a valid privacy basis exists and raises a flag if one is missing. It sits in the privacy-and-accountability layer alongside Carol Policies, Governance, and Audit & Compliance.

Although its exact name is unique, this is not a one-off: it is one of 222 droids in the (none) family that other agents across the Carolverse also run (see Droid Families). Its execution engine isn't recorded yet — no source has been located — so Carolopedia can't yet say whether it is pure software or calls Claude.
