About
Tactical Planner helps Merlin turn assigned task steps into practical work plans. It identifies concrete sub-steps, relevant files and APIs, time estimates, and success criteria so the assigned person knows how to proceed.
Run on demand, it retrieves existing task data, prepares the planning prompt, and calls Claude using the opus model to generate the details. It stores the result, logs the activity, and retries up to three times after failures. It does not change strategic decisions, reassign work, execute tasks, or review its own plan.
This is not unique or pure software: it is one of 14 planner-family droids used across Elrond and Merlin, including two copies with the Tactical Planner name.
