About

App Steward (stw-034) is a scheduled droid owned by Leo. It exists to keep its owner's registered apps alive: it watches the apps registered to that agent, detects when one goes down, and relaunches it using the shared app-liveness mechanism in `shared/app_steward.py`. This is part of the background housekeeping that keeps Carol's ecosystem running without someone manually restarting failed apps.

It is not unique. App Steward is one instance of the standard app-steward droid family, which 19 droids run on behalf of agents including Carol, Archon, Argus, Clara, Hermione, Merlin, Midas, Themis and Prometheus โ€” 18 of them share the exact name "App Steward". Each copy is scoped to its own owner's apps, so they work independently but from the same shared mechanism. Related infrastructure includes Process Monitoring for process oversight and Scheduled Processes for how these droids are scheduled.

App Steward is pure software: its source makes no Claude calls, so it runs entirely on the existing automation stack rather than calling an LLM. Its execution engine is recorded as software, with no model associated.
