๐Ÿ“–About & Usage

About

App Steward is a scheduled droid owned by Merlin that keeps its owner's registered apps alive. It exists because apps in the Carolverse can crash or stall, and someone needs to notice and relaunch them promptly instead of relying on manual checks. This instance is scoped specifically to the apps registered to Merlin.

Each scheduled run, it calls the shared app-liveness mechanism (shared/app_steward.py), which checks whether every registered app is still responding. Any app found down is relaunched automatically. This work overlaps with the wider Process Monitoring service, and the droid itself is catalogued in Droid Families alongside the other standard droid types.

This droid is not unique: it is one of 19 app-steward droids run across the ecosystem, with 18 exact-name copies owned by other agents such as Carol, Hermione, and Themis. It is pure software โ€” no Claude calls were found in its source, so it executes without an LLM.
