About
The App Steward (stw-017) is a scheduled droid owned by Jarvis. It exists to keep Jarvis's registered apps alive: it periodically checks each app's liveness and, when one has crashed or stopped responding, relaunches it using the shared app-steward script (`shared/app_steward.py`). This stops the owner's services from silently sitting offline until a human or another agent happens to notice.
The droid is scoped to its owner's own apps, so it acts as a local watchdog for Jarvis rather than for the whole fleet. It runs on a schedule — the exact interval isn't recorded — and plugs into the wider Carolverse machinery for recurring work and monitoring, alongside Scheduled Processes, Droid Families, and Process Monitoring.
This instance is not unique: it is one of 19 app-steward droids in a standard family that many other agents also run, including Archon, Argus, Carol, Clara, Elrond, Hagrid, Hermione, Merlin, Midas, Orion, Sage, Themis, Radagast, Thorin, Leo, and Prometheus — 18 of them are exact-name copies. The App Steward is pure software, with no Claude calls found in its source, so no model is involved in its work.
