The Skill Development Droid (sd-s1) is an automated worker owned by Elrond (Elrond). Its registered function is "skill development and maintenance" — in plain terms, it exists to keep skills growing and in good repair inside Elrond's corner of the Carolverse. Its purpose, duties, and constraints fields are not filled in yet, so the exact scope of its day-to-day work isn't recorded beyond that function.
Mechanically, it's a pipeline droid: it runs as part of a Pipeline process rather than on a fixed schedule. It is not pure software — its execution engine calls Claude (model: sonnet), and Claude is what does the actual skill development and maintenance reasoning work. When no pipeline triggers it, the droid sits idle.
This is a one-off custom droid, not a member of a reusable standard family. Its family is listed as "(none)", and its name "Skill Development Droid" is unique — no other droid shares it. That said, 222 droids across the ecosystem share the same "no family" status; each is its own bespoke build, and this particular one belongs to Elrond. It's catalogued in Droid Families alongside the rest of Carol's droid inventory.
