๐Ÿ“–About & Usage

About

Scribe is a scheduled worker droid that keeps the memory for Orion. Every day at 3:10 AM it writes Orion's daily memory log and compiles summaries of session activity, so that its owner, Sentinel, can stay informed about system behavior. The point is to let Sentinel review what's happening, spot recurring issues, and find opportunities for improvement without manually tracking every interaction.

Scribe runs automatically on Scheduled Processes โ€” nobody has to trigger it. Its records are purely descriptive: it logs what happened and summarises sessions, then files them where Sentinel can read them, with Orion's Logbook as the natural home. By design, Scribe doesn't analyse patterns, recommend fixes, or make changes; it's a record-keeper that feeds information to its owner.

Scribe is one of about thirty droids in the "worker" family (see Droid Families) that several agents run, such as Albus, Carol, and Clara โ€” so it isn't a one-off, though the exact name "Scribe" belongs only to this droid. It isn't pure software: it calls Claude to do the actual writing and summarising, with no specific model recorded. It passes what Claude produces along as records for Sentinel and never decides or acts on its own.

Correction2026-08-02

2026-08-02: An investigation found that Scribe could not provide its app link because Carolverse stores many app addresses as bare paths or leaves them blank, rather than because of a fault in the droid.

Fix2026-08-01

On 2026-04-26, Scribe's Monitor runbook card was fixed to read the law directly instead of hand-typed cookbook HTML, ending silent drift. It also removed the stale claim that Albus autonomously classifies failures and creates fix initiatives.

Correction2026-08-01
New Capability2026-07-30

Scribe now maintains named and described records for all geographical features on the Carolverse map, fulfilling the recent naming initiative.

Change2026-07-29

Scriber's Logbook has been rebuilt around a fixed daily one-video format with a flat date-sorted landing page, as specified by Ninad, replacing prior layout.

New Capability2026-07-29

Scriber's Logbook now has compact video cards and a dedicated transcript page that auto-hyperlinks agent names like Scribe to their Carolopedia pages.

New Capability2026-07-29

Scriber's Logbook now has a hand-drawn sketch look and a heavy male voice (Onyx). Additionally, a subtitle on/off toggle has been added to Scriber's videos. Scribe

Fix2026-07-27

The Scribe Logbook video narration is now written in plain, non-technical language. Agent faces now use canonical Carolopedia sketch portraits to avoid refusal errors.

New Capability2026-07-26

This per-agent cap is enforced via Scribe's configuration.

Fix2026-07-26

Initiative CAROL-INI-3254-00 implements a fix based on Scribe's analysis. The pipeline now provides full initiative scope to each step, resolving fragmented context and missed cross-references.

New Capability2026-07-26

Carol Intelligence now surfaces Scriber's Creative track under its own heading, populated by Scriber's media work. Scribe

New Capability2026-07-26

Scribe now uses deterministic addresses derived from the Carolverse Map to visit agents for interviews. Each agent's home address is based on its department, city, and realm with a unique house number.

Change2026-07-26

On 2025-04-08, Scriber's Logbook was updated to use per-post titles reflecting the real initiative status and to show the daily budget status. Scribe

Fix2026-07-26
Change2026-07-26

The Scriber Logbook in-story analysis video cards Scribe are now smaller and title-only, with the budget chip sourcing its daily cap from the registry via budget_allocations agt_044. No hardcoded JS fallback.

New Capability2026-07-26

Scribe's investigative analysis is now shared with Albus diagnostic lanes, giving read-only access to each initiative's post title, trigger, body, and interview findings as framed opinion.

New Capability2026-07-26

The Scriber logbook now groups video cards under event-date headers and adds per-video triggers. Interview videos are uniform small cards without transcript turn-text. This rework clarifies the chronology and thought process of Scribe.

Fix2026-07-26

Scribe's direct analysis now enables Albus to always land a diagnosis, even when the tool investigation fails to converge, by providing conclusive evidence that bypasses the guard.

Fix2026-07-26

Scriber scenes now correctly depict the face of the agent or interviewee in each scene, rather than always using Scribe's own reference image.

Change2026-07-26

Scribe now persists its technical investigation brief and provides it to Albus for diagnosis, instead of being discarded after Author uses it.

New Capability2026-07-26

Scribe now combines consecutive posts that share the same title, trigger, and date into a single video up to 3 minutes long. Narration longer than 3 minutes is split into parts. Interviews remain one per interviewee.

New Capability2026-07-26

Scribe now has a Story Editor (sc-decide-01) that selects the next video topic, agenda, and length based on drama scores and budget constraints, cross-linked to Scribe.

Fix2026-07-25

Image generation costs are now metered into his budget via Cost Center, ensuring his spend is properly tracked by Budget Gate.

Correction2026-07-25

2025-04-09: Historic image generation spend has been retroactively seeded into the cost ledger, fixing the previous lack of metering for Scribe's images. Surviving generated images are now priced per the Nano Banana estimate.

Correction2026-07-25
Change2026-07-24

The Scriber's Logbook landing page now uses smaller initiative cards in a responsive multi-column grid for better browsing on all devices. Scribe

New Capability2026-07-24

Scriber now has an investigator step to dig for root causes, so his Logbook stories will reflect true causes rather than surface labels. Scribe
