๐Ÿ“–About & Usage

About

Scanner is a scheduled droid owned by Merlin that runs every Sunday at 4:30 AM. Its job is to check tool packages for available upgrades and report what's out of date, so upgrade opportunities are surfaced automatically instead of being hunted down by hand.

Each run, Scanner checks tool packages for available versions, identifies tools with upgrades available, and reports its findings for review. It only detects โ€” it never applies upgrades, evaluates compatibility, assesses breaking changes, or decides what to prioritize. Those choices stay with Merlin or other parts of the tooling system. Its weekly schedule is tracked in Scheduled Processes.

Scanner is one of 25 droids in the intelligence family, a reusable droid type run by multiple agents such as Albus, Carol, and Merlin itself; the family is documented in Droid Families. The name "Scanner" is unique to this instance. Scanner is pure software and does not call Claude.

Fix2026-07-24

Fixed broken join keys in the SST scanner that caused orphan false-positives for all registered agents and apps. Cross-joins now correctly match agent directories (agt_NNN) against registry IDs instead of names, and app keys against directory names, resolving 60 of 83 defect rows.
