About
Scriber's Story Editor (sc-decide-01) is a decision-making droid owned by Scriber: before each story-publishing run, it decides what topic gets covered next. It reads the remaining Daily Budget and the open topics — planner initiatives from Carol Initiatives that haven't been storied yet, plus previously covered topics that have since moved — scores the candidates by how long-running and failure-prone they look, then makes a journalist's pick of topic, agenda, and target length (capped at three minutes). Its reason for existing is to keep Scriber's storytelling on rails without ever spending past the daily budget.
The droid is triggered once per run, is strictly read-only, and never edits initiatives or invokes troubleshooting. If the budget is already exhausted it refuses before any spend happens, and it emits a run-audit after every decision. Its execution engine isn't recorded yet: it isn't known whether this droid is pure software or calls Claude, so there's no model or Claude purpose to report.
The name "Scriber's Story Editor" is unique — this is a bespoke one-off, not a reusable family. While 222 droids across the fleet carry the "(none)" archetype label (the bucket for custom droids), only Scriber runs this particular droid; there is no shared "Story Editor" family that other agents deploy.
