About

Scriber Author (sc-au-01) is a small cleanup droid owned by Scriber (Scriber). Its job is to keep Albus's inbox tidy: whenever a handshake request addressed to Albus sits open for more than five minutes, Scriber Author treats it as a dead letter and archives it. These stale handshakes were piling up as noise, so this droid was rehomed from the retired al_watch_01 as part of CAROL-INI-145 to sweep them away automatically.

On each triggered run, Scriber Author scans the handshake_requests store for open requests with to_agent=albus older than five minutes, archives them, and writes a run-audit record of what it did. It is deliberately narrow: it may only read and update handshake_requests, and it never invokes troubleshooting. Think of it as a regular janitorial sweep rather than an always-on service.

Although its exact name "Scriber Author" is unique, the droid itself isn't a one-off: it's one of 222 droids in the "(none)" family that many agents across Carol's ecosystem run. It is pure software — no Claude calls appear anywhere in its source — so it executes entirely on its own without asking an LLM for help.
