Sam Chat is the droid that lets operators talk directly to Sam inside the Org app. It exists so that Sam can reply to messages automatically, handling one request at a time like any good assistant would. Think of it as a dedicated chat lane — it’s the channel through which Sam listens and responds, using a pattern pioneered by Leo Chat App.

Under the hood, each time an operator sends a message, Sam Chat takes exactly one turn with an LLM to craft a reply. The droid belongs to the (none) family, which is a widely shared archetype: over 200 agents across the Carolverse run their own version of this same chat pattern. So while the name “Sam Chat” is unique to Sam, the underlying design is anything but — it’s a standard building block, mirrored by agents from Albus through Scriber. The execution engine isn’t recorded yet, so we can’t say for sure whether it’s pure software or if it calls Claude — just that it reliably powers Sam’s side of the conversation in the Agent Chat service.
