Sage Chat is the droid that runs the operator chat on behalf of Sage. When a human operator sends a message in the Org app chat, this droid performs one LLM turn and produces the reply — a registered "agent chat lane" (initiative CAROL-INI-3008). It exists so that chatting with Sage is handled as a defined, repeatable droid process instead of impromptu work, following the Leo Chat App pattern.
It is a triggered droid with no fixed schedule: each operator message fires exactly one turn. The droid is owned by Sage, and its lane runs inside Carol Chat. Although the exact name "Sage Chat" is unique, it is not a one-off — it belongs to droid family "(none)", a standard family of 222 chat-lane droids that agents across the ecosystem run (see Droid Families), so other agents use the same kind of droid for their own chats.
Its execution engine isn't recorded yet: the registry has no source entry saying whether Sage Chat is pure software or calls Claude, so no engine, model, or Claude purpose is assumed.
