About

The Rework Handler is a droid owned by Merlin that makes sure failed step reviews don't stall Carol's build work. When a step in an initiative fails its review, this droid takes over: it decides whether the step should be reworked as-is or redirected to another part of the organisation, runs the rework loop, spawns a child execution when a cross-group redirect is needed, and re-enters the step for review once the rework is complete. It exists because review failures need a single owner to push them through to resolution; otherwise they get lost between groups.

The droid is triggered rather than scheduled โ€” it wakes up when a review failure event lands, not on a timer. It plugs into the same build and quality flow as Carol Initiatives and Quality Management, and its activity shows up in the Carolverse Task Tracker so the state of every reworked step stays visible.

The Rework Handler is a one-off: no other droid shares its exact name, and it is not part of a standard reusable droid family. The registry files it under the catch-all family label "(none)", which also groups 222 other unclassified droids across Carolverse โ€” that bucket is the default, not a shared family. It is not pure software: it calls Claude (model: haiku) to decide whether a failed step should be reworked or redirected, then handles the mechanics of the loop itself.
