📖About & Usage

About

Merlin Replan Drain is a tidy-up droid that keeps Merlin’s pipeline replan queue healthy. Its sole job is to sweep through the `merlin_replan_unapplied` rows that accumulate in `pipeline_failures_v` and apply the pre-existing prompt directive to each failed step. By draining those unapplied replans automatically, the droid prevents stale directives from clogging the pipeline and ensures that every known fix gets a chance to work.

The droid runs on a tight two‑minute schedule, so it catches new failures quickly. Each execution takes an unapplied replan row, hands the step context and the stored `prompt_directive` to Claude, and lets the model carry out the directive without any fresh diagnosis or new decision‑making. When a run completes, Merlin Replan Drain emits an audit record so that Audit & Compliance can track what was processed.

This is a one‑of‑a‑kind droid — there is only one Merlin Replan Drain, owned exclusively by Merlin. It is not part of any reusable droid family, though many unique droids like it exist across the Carolverse. It is not pure software; it calls Claude to re-apply the directive to the failed step, using a model that isn’t explicitly pinned in its configuration.
