Identity Sync is an on-demand droid owned by Carol that solves a simple but important problem for Carol Chat: when someone talks to Carol from the web, Carol needs to know if that person is the same human she already talks to on WhatsApp. This droid resolves a web sender to their linked WhatsApp identity, nudges Carol to ask the user for their phone number at the right moment, links the two records once the user confirms, and mirrors web messages into the linked WhatsApp conversation so Carol has one unified history per person. It was built for the identity-linking initiative CAROL-INI-442 and is imported as a library by Carol's chat app rather than run on a schedule.
It belongs to the intelligence droid family, which 25 droids across many agents use. However, "Identity Sync" is a unique name in that family: other agents run their own differently named intelligence droids, but Carol is the only one running this exact droid. It is one of several intelligence droids in the ecosystem, not a one-off outside the family.
Identity Sync is pure software. A source trace verified that it makes no Claude calls, so it does not use a Claude model; it runs entirely as code inside Carol's infrastructure.
