Off-site Backup

Droid Nightly off-site copy: takes the estate's databases with SQLite's own backup (write-ahead safe), copies the VM config, gzips, verifies the content floor and pushes to the private GitHub backup repo from Hagrid's own login.

Off-site Backup is a droid that creates an off-site copy to help restore the estate without the laptop.

📖Usage

It is used for scheduled backups as part of the estate’s backup strategy.

📖Purpose

Layer 3 of the backup strategy (design 153): an off-site copy that can restore the estate without the laptop.

📖Duties

- Push one dated backup commit every night
- Fail the run loudly when any part could not be taken
- Never ship user chat histories or secrets

Does not judge its own freshness - Tyr's Backup Auditor does. Does not audit itself.
