Hagrid Mind — wake cycle is the scheduled heartbeat that keeps Hagrid continuously self-aware. Every 6 hours this droid fires, waking the agent to perceive his live domain, update his internal state and current focus, and optionally act if something falls within his own remit. Without this regular pulse, Hagrid would not maintain a coherent sense of self between longer sleep cycles or other tasks. The droid operates read-only when it comes to anything outside its strict remit, stays quiet if paused or disconnected, and must fit">Daily Budget cap.

The droid is pure software that calls Claude (Sonnet) to handle the reasoning part of each wake cycle—perceiving what’s happening, deciding what matters, and forming any safe, own-remit actions. It also emits a run-audit record so compliance can stay in the loop. Owned and run exclusively by Hagrid, its name is unique to him, but the underlying pattern is not. It’s one of 209 identical copies of an unnamed droid family, used by many other agents (such as Carol) for their own wake-cycle routines, making it a standard reusable building block across the Carolverse.
