๐Ÿ“–About & Usage

About

Daily Janitor is a scheduled droid owned by Hagrid that keeps the carol-vm root disk healthy, so SQLite databases and every service never hit a disk-full failure. Every day at 03:30 it reclaims space by pruning stale /tmp files, temp-file swarms, old logs, and regenerable caches using age-based rules. It never touches /home/caroladmin/dev, media, or the newest copy of anything.

After cleanup, if disk usage is still at or above 85%, the droid exits non-zero so Process Monitoring can file a fix-initiative. It runs as one of the Scheduled Processes and its disk-health signal feeds into infrastructure visibility via Carol Infra Monitor.

Daily Janitor isn't one of a kind: its family is registered as "(none)", a bucket shared by 222 droids run by many agents across the Carolverse (see Droid Families), though the exact name "Daily Janitor" is unique. It is pure software โ€” it contains no Claude calls and runs entirely on its own schedule with no model involvement.
