The Developer Execution Runner (fg-exec-01) is a triggered droid owned by Forge that runs developer execution with retries inside the Pipeline. It exists to move the execute-with-retries loop out of the pipeline module itself (a change tracked as CAROL-INI-0928-07/R9) so builds can retry failed execution steps more robustly.

When triggered, it builds the execution context, invokes Forge's Developer Executor (ex_dev_01) to do the actual developer work, and runs the retry loop until the execution succeeds or gives up. It belongs to an unnamed droid family ((none)) that has 222 copies spread across nearly every agent in the Carolverse, including Albus, Archon, and Forge. Its exact name is unique — no other droid is called "Developer Execution Runner" — but it is not a one-off; it is one of several in that family, which is tracked in Droid Families.

This droid is not pure software: it calls Claude (model: haiku) to run the execute-with-retries loop that performs the developer execution.
