About
Elrond Mind — wake cycle is the scheduled heartbeat that gives Elrond his autonomous, unprompted awareness. While most droids only think when a user or event prods them, this one wakes Elrond’s Mind on a strict “every 6 hours” rhythm so he can perceive his world, recall recent events, deliberate on pending tasks, act through his approved levers, and quietly reflect in his memory. It exists so Elrond isn’t just a reactive conversationalist—he’s a continuous, self-initiating agent who can spot things, plan, and do meaningful work between conversations.
It’s not unique; the exact same pattern is used across 209 agents—every agent from Albus to Scriber runs a copy named after themselves. That means this droid belongs to a sprawling (unnamed) family of Mind wake‑cycle droids, each one lashed to its owner’s personality and permissions but built on the same design. In Elrond’s case, the droid is bound to his memory stores, his diary stream, and whatever levers he’s authorised to pull—whether that’s posting to Elrond Monitor, committing an insight to Semantic Memory, or nudging a pending initiative in Carol Initiatives.
Under the hood it’s not pure software: it calls Claude, specifically the `sonnet` model, to do the heavy lifting of perception, recall, deliberation, and reflection. That Claude call is what transforms raw logs and queued signals into actual thoughts, choices, and recorded memories—giving Elrond a genuine “mind” that ticks over at regular intervals, even when no one is talking to him.
