About

The Design Compliance Verifier is a reviewer droid owned by Argus. It exists to keep Carol's apps visually consistent: on demand, it checks an app's design facets โ€” the canonical topbar, responsive viewport, and dark-theme palette โ€” against Design System #178 and reports pass/fail plus any gaps. Per cookbook #312 it only checks design facets; it is deterministic and fail-open, meaning it never blocks work on uncertainty, and it never fixes anything, only reports.

Argus triggers the droid whenever an app is ready for a design review. The check runs as pure, deterministic software: it inspects the app's rendered design facets, compares them to the Design System rules, and produces a pass/fail report with gaps. It makes no Claude calls, so no model is involved โ€” results come from code alone.

Although the name "Design Compliance Verifier" is unique to this droid, it is one of a standard family: 31 reviewer droids that several agents run, including Albus, Archon, Argus, Carol, Elrond, Forge, Galadriel, Merlin, Orion, Sage, Themis, and Noah. See Droid Families for how these families are organised and Carol Design for the design standards they check against.
