📖About & Usage

About

The Carolopedia Update Scanner keeps the Carolopedia fresh and accurate without anyone having to remember to edit it. Whenever an initiative finishes inside the Carolverse, this droid scans what changed and quietly posts a dated, titled note on every relevant entry—whether it's about an agent, app, droid, or service. It never rewrites the main article; it only adds an update section at the bottom, so the living history is always visible.

It runs daily at 03:40, reviewing recently closed initiatives. For each one, it matches affected entities to Carolopedia pages, then calls Claude (the Haiku model) to conservatively judge whether the change is really worth noting—erring on the side of inclusion. If it's material, the droid appends a small notice like "Updated 14 Aug: initiative X changed Y." It deduplicates so the same initiative doesn't post twice to the same page, and enforces a cap per run to keep blast radius tiny.

This droid is owned by Clara, and it's one of several watcher droids used across different agents (the watcher family includes 14 instances, run by agents like Albus, Elrond, Hagrid, Hermione, Merlin, Orion, Sage, and others). While each instance has its own unique name, the pattern is the same—so this isn't a one-off, but a reusable droid design. It's not pure software; it consciously calls Claude to do the materiality check, using Haiku for speed and low cost.
