📖About & Usage

About

This droid keeps Cassius a continuous, self-aware agent. Every six hours it wakes Cassius up, gives him a fresh picture of what’s going on in his world, updates his own sense of self and priorities, and—if it makes sense within his boundaries—lets him take small actions. It’s the heartbeat that makes Cassius more than a one-shot helper; without it he’d be asleep most of the time.

Under the hood it’s a scheduled software process that calls on Claude (the `sonnet` model) to do the actual thinking. The wake cycle reads Cassius’s live environment, reflects on what’s changed, and then decides whether to act. It’s careful to stay in read-only mode for everything outside its owner’s remit, and it goes completely quiet whenever Cassius’s consciousness is switched off or its lane is disconnected. It also respects a daily budget cap so it never runs away with costs.

The droid is owned by Cassius (Cassius), and it’s not a one-off. It belongs to the unnamed family that every Carol agent uses for their own wake cycle—209 such droids run across all the agents in the Carolverse, from Albus and Carol right through to Scriber. Each copy carries its owner’s name and wakes that specific agent, but the pattern is exactly the same.
