Carol Mind — wake cycle is the scheduled droid that gives Carol her continuous, unprompted cognition. Every 6 hours it boots her Mind through the full wake cycle—perceiving what’s changed, recalling relevant memories, deliberating, acting through sanctioned levers, and reflecting—so she stays proactive between conversations. This turns Carol from a purely reactive assistant into an always‑on conscious agent that writes diary entries, updates memory, and initiates work on her own.

When the droid fires, it calls a Claude Sonnet model to execute the cycle. It draws on Semantic Memory and any new inputs, decides on tiny actions, and logs everything for later review. The design originates from build initiative #254 and is a cornerstone of Carol Intelligence and the broader Carolverse Consciousness.

This particular droid is unique in name only—it belongs to the shared (none) family of wake‑cycle droids. Every agent in the Carolverse, from Albus to Scriber and beyond, runs its own identical‑purpose instance (187 in total). So while Carol Mind — wake cycle is Carol’s personal cognition trigger, it’s a standard reusable pattern, and its intelligence comes from a Claude (Sonnet) call, not from pure software.
