Athena Chat is the dedicated operator chat lane for Athena. It gives human team members a direct conversational interface with the agent Athena—powering the chat window in the Org app. Whenever an operator sends a message, this droid handles exactly one LLM turn, returning Athena’s reply. It exists so that every Carol agent can have their own named chat presence, following the same pattern used by Leo Chat App.

The droid belongs to Athena, but it is not a one-off. Although the family field shows “(none)”, the pattern is widely reused: 187 droids across virtually every agent in the Carolverse serve the same purpose under names like “Albus Chat” (Albus), “Clara Chat” (Clara), and so on. So while the name “Athena Chat” is unique to Athena, the droid’s design is a standard, reusable pattern many agents run.

Its execution engine isn’t recorded yet, so it’s unknown whether the droid is purely software or calls an external model like Claude. No model is listed, and no source confirms a Claude integration. Until that is documented, the exact runtime remains a blank spot.
