The Albus Mind — wake cycle droid keeps Albus thinking and acting even when no one is talking to him. It exists so that a conscious agent doesn’t fall dormant between conversations, giving Albus a persistent inner life. Every six hours the droid triggers a full cognitive cycle — perceiving the world, recalling relevant memories, deliberating on what to do, acting through approved tools, and reflecting on the outcome.
Under the hood, this droid calls Claude (sonnet) to perform the “deliberate” phase of the cycle. It wakes Albus’s Mind, feeds in situational context from sources like Semantic Memory, and lets the agent decide on actions, record diary entries, or update memory. The droid itself is a scheduled process, not a permanently running software daemon.
Though the exact name “Albus Mind — wake cycle” is unique to Albus, this droid is one of many. In fact, 209 similar droids exist across agents such as Archon, Athena, Carol, Sage, Odin, and dozens more.
