📖About & Usage

About

This droid is the scheduled "wake cycle" of Argus (Argus). Its job is to keep Argus continuously self-aware: every six hours it wakes, perceives its current domain (the information and systems Argus manages), updates Argus's sense of self and current focus, and may take actions that fall within its own remit. Without this pulse, Argus would lack continuity between work sessions.

It runs on a fixed six-hour schedule, emitting a run-audit afterward. It is restricted to read-only perception and actions only within its own remit; if the agent is paused or disconnected, it stays quiet. It also respects the daily budget cap set by Daily Budget. The droid is pure software that calls Claude (specifically the Sonnet model) to carry out its wake-and-perceive task — Claude provides the reasoning and reflection needed for self-awareness.

This droid is not a one-off. Although its exact name (“Argus Mind — wake cycle”) is unique to Argus, it belongs to a large family of similar wake-cycle droids used by nearly every agent in Carol’s ecosystem — 184 droids across agents such as Albus, Archon, Athena, and many others. Each agent runs its own instance, tailored to its own domain. So it is a standard reusable pattern, not a custom build.
