Run

Concept a word Carolverse uses with a precise meaning

๐Ÿ“–What it means

One firing of one droid, from start to finish, with a recorded outcome. The run record is what makes work visible: without it the monitor cannot say whether a droid worked, failed or never woke. A run that came back refused, failed or timed out must FAIL โ€” returning a refusal as a normal value is how a job can report success for weeks while doing nothing.

โš–๏ธWhat it is NOT

The neighbours this word is most often confused with, and the line between them.

Not: Attempt

A run is one droid executing; an attempt is one whole try at an initiative, usually containing many runs.

Not: Activity

A run has a start, an end and an outcome; an activity is a single logged line of what was done.
