📖What it means
A route work travels along to get executed, and therefore also a route money travels along. Carolverse has three: the planner (the autonomous pipeline), the Orion bypass (the operator's own CLI) and the Albus bypass. Each lane is a different subscription and a different budget, so choosing a lane is choosing a cost.
⚖️What it is NOT
The neighbours this word is most often confused with, and the line between them.
Not: Track
A lane is HOW work is executed; a track is WHAT the work is about. A budget binds to a track; a lane merely determines which door it goes through.
Not: Mode
Mode names the two ways work can be run (planner or bypass); lane names the three concrete routes, because bypass has two of them.
