App

Concept a word Carolverse uses with a precise meaning

๐Ÿ“–What it means

A web surface that SHOWS the estate its own state โ€” a dashboard, a viewer, a console. An app is a transparency layer: it reads records and renders them, and it is owned by exactly one agent. Apps deliberately do not perform work: an app that schedules, watches or mutates has stopped being an app and become an unaccountable droid in disguise.

โš–๏ธWhat it is NOT

The neighbours this word is most often confused with, and the line between them.

Not: Service

An app is one web surface; a service is a whole line of business that may own many apps, droids and budgets.

Not: System service

An app is what a person looks at; a system service is machinery that runs without a face.

Not: Tool

An app is used through a browser by a person; a tool is used from the command line or called by an agent.
