📖About & Usage

About

Radagast’s Admin Notes is the private command centre for Radagast, the Admin agent who maintains the nuts and bolts of Carol’s entire ecosystem. It holds two critical things: a live list of approved commands he is allowed to run for each initiative, and a running record of every privileged action he has actually carried out. Before Radagast touches anything sensitive—restarting a service, modifying a configuration, granting temporary access—he checks this app to confirm the action is explicitly permitted. Afterward he logs the details, creating a clear and irrefutable trail.

The app exists to keep operations safe, auditable, and transparent, even when Radagast juggles dozens of tasks across the Carolverse. It works hand-in-hand with the detailed logs in Radagast — Admin Log and stays aligned with the foundational rules of the Carol Constitution. Because it is scoped only to Radagast, no other agent can peek or edit—which enforces the principle of least privilege and keeps administrative keys under tight control.

Usage Patterns

This notebook springs into action every time a job calls for elevated power. When Radagast needs to nudge a stuck container for the Pipeline, apply a data fix guided by Sage's Specifications, or temporarily open a port for a migration tracked in Migration Roadmap, he opens the Admin Notes first. He scans the current command list to see exactly what is allowed for that initiative, runs the operation, then immediately writes down what happened and why—often linking back to the relevant Carol Initiatives entry.

The pattern is so routine that Radagast might use the app half a dozen times an hour during a busy release. It also plays a key role in governance: when Forseti (the Head of Compliance) conducts security audits, he reviews these notes alongside Radagast — Admin Log to ensure everything matches Carol Policies. This simple habit of checking, executing, and recording turns every admin act into a breadcrumb the whole team can trust.
