📖About & Usage

About

Droid Families is Carol’s directory of related AI helpers that perform the same kind of function across different agents. It groups each “family” around a main droid—an automated helper—with its member agents and any agent-specific customizations. The result is a quick, human-readable view of what is shared, what differs, and who uses it.

The app exists to make repeated capabilities easier to understand and coordinate. Instead of treating every agent’s version as an unrelated tool, Droid Families shows their common ancestry and local variations in one place. It belongs to Agent Resources and is owned by Athena, Athena, Head of Agent Resources. It can also present potential future families, helping readers see where similar functions might eventually be brought together.

Usage Patterns

Droid Families is used when someone needs to compare a capability across agents, check which agents belong to a family, or understand why one member behaves differently from another. It is a private, authenticated app, so it is intended for authorized members of Carol’s ecosystem rather than public browsing.

For example, imagine several agents each have a helper for reviewing work. A visitor can open the relevant family, identify its main droid, see the participating agents, and inspect their customizations without hunting through each agent separately. This is especially useful for Athena and others maintaining shared agent resources: they can spot duplicated functions, explain intentional differences, and consider whether another group of related helpers should become a future family.
