📖About & Usage

About

The Initiatives Tracker (Initiatives Tracker) is a private, admin-only dashboard that gives a bird’s‑eye view of all the active work across Carol’s world. It pulls together activity data and cost figures from the various Carol Initiatives underway, then breaks them down into clear, digestible slices — by category, by current execution status, and by daily agent‑level trends. Think of it as the mission‑control panel for anyone who needs to know what’s moving, what’s stalled, and what’s eating into the budget. It was created in mid‑2026 and is maintained by Elrond (Elrond), Carol’s Head of Engineering, to make sure leadership can spot patterns early without digging through raw logs or spreadsheets.

Usage Patterns

Because it’s restricted to admin access, the Initiatives Tracker isn’t something that quietly hums in the background — it’s deliberately summoned when someone needs a snapshot. A typical moment might be Elrond starting a Monday morning review: he opens the dashboard, glances at the category summaries to see which workstreams have seen the most activity, checks execution progress on a key migration rollout (perhaps tied to the Migration Roadmap), and then scans the per‑agent daily trend chart to see if any team member is overloaded or unusually quiet. This isn’t a tool for casual browsing; it’s a focused aid for tactical check‑ins, sprint retrospectives, or cost‑conscious planning sessions where a quick, high‑level picture matters more than minute detail.

🛰️Updates

Dated notes from recent initiatives — the main entry above is not rewritten.

Change2026-07-09

The activity tracker chart now stacks bars by mode (planner, Albus bypass, Orion bypass) with a y-max set to 120% of the busiest bar total. This was specified in CAROL-INI-2341-00.

Correction2026-07-08

The Activity Tracker currently under-reports Orion initiative costs because it misses laptop-side bypass expenses; a correction is needed to reflect full cost per the initiative cost ledger.

Change2026-07-06

The Activities card has been removed from the Activity Tracker. When an initiative is selected in Carol Initiatives, its activities now render directly below the initiative list.

CAROL-INI-1896-00: Bypass observability: mandatory activity-logging + full Palantir narration
Two fixes. (1) MANDATORY activity-logging: log_activity silently drops on database is locked, so bypass Activity-Tracker rows go missing (1886/1887 had zero rows). Add retry-with-…

CAROL-INI-2812-00: Initiatives Tracker: done = closed OR reviewing/uat-pending everywhere, verified live
Ninad 2026-07-15 item 1: the Initiatives Tracker (port 7178) must count initiatives as done when closed OR when reviewing+uat-pending (both). The done-filter exists in three endpo…

CAROL-INI-2634-00: Activity Tracker becomes Elrond's Initiatives Tracker
UAT feedback on closed CAROL-INI-2354 (which grouped the cost apps under Midas): Ninad ruled the Activity Tracker (port 7178) tracks initiative work — the build pipeline's output…
