{"wiki":{"id":1860,"slug":"merlin-chat","entity_type":"droid","entity_id":"merlin-chat","title":"Merlin Chat","prose_md":"## About\n\nMerlin Chat is the dedicated chat lane that lets an operator talk directly to agent [[agt_020]] inside the Org app. It exists so that every Carol agent can have a natural, conversational interface – you type a message, and the agent replies as itself, using its own knowledge and personality.\n\nWhen an operator sends a message in the Org chat addressed to Merlin, this droid fires. It takes the incoming message, processes it through a single LLM turn, and returns a response in Merlin’s voice. The design follows the same pattern used by [[agt_034]]’s [[leo-chat]] and all other agent chat droids; the underlying chat plumbing is provided by the [[whatsapp]] service. Execution details are not yet recorded, so we don’t know whether it calls Claude or uses a fully software‑based engine.\n\nMerlin Chat is not unique – it’s one of 209 identical droids deployed across the Carolverse. Almost every agent, from [[agt_008]] to [[agt_020]] to [[agt_034]], owns their own instance, all belonging to the same unnamed family.
